Its name TAONABA means mangrove or mangrove trees  in Indian Caribbean.

The electric ship "TAONABA" was designed on the criteria of the label "trust mark" from the Guadeloupe National Park to respect at the most the environment in which it operates.

This vessel approved for 20 passengers has a length of 10.70 meters and a width of 3 meters.
Its design gives it a large deck area with a space of comfort for passengers and for lunch on board.

Made in Guadeloupe by TIG shipyard, it is aluminum and fitted wooden allowing it to be more than 95% recyclable.
It is equipped with two electric motors of 10 kW each and two parks of 8 batteries each supplying the engines. Each park has 8 batteries of 12 volts / 230 amps divided into two groups of 4 batteries connected in series and each group is connected in parallel. The assembly has a final voltage of 48 volts and 460 amperes. The maximum power of each park is 22 KW allowing in theory if we use the engines at maximum power a battery life of 2 hours. In this case the speed is about 7 knots or 13 km / hour
In fact the engines are used in 40% of their maximum power to reach a cruising speed of 5 knots or about 10 km / hour.
The autonomy is then of more than 5 hours.

The 20 solar panels installed on the roof during the day recharge two batteries parks producing 5 kilowatts / hour. With solar panels batteries are at the end of the day about 65% of their charge which increases their longevity.

This vessel is completely autonomous , it recharges the batteries during the day through renewable energy, and does not require any fuel or  connection to the electricity  network. It produces no waste into the lagoon and into the atmosphere. Its fairing is silicone based and does not release any toxic product in water.
Another advantage is its silence, no engine noise will disturb the local wildlife and is more relaxing for the passengers.
It does not produce smell.
This vessel is equipped with a kitchen for the meals on board in order to limit the impact of a landing and meals ashore. The selective sorting is done onboard.
The ship is equipped with toilets.
